Leo Koot

Leo Koot


  • Over 30 years of industry experience.
  • Has run oil and energy businesses and has been an active board member, most recently with AIM listed Sterling Energy PLC as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director and Columbus Energy Resource PLC as Executive Chairman.
  • Global energy experience includes his role as Managing Partner of MENA Gulf Investment Partners (Abu Dhabi), President of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company’s TAQA Iraq and Managing Director of TAQA UK where he built the organization from a few people to an organization of over 2,000 staff and contractors and delivered a mature E&P operating company that managed 60,000 bopd production with USD 1.7 bln in annual revenues.
  • Formerly CEO of Energy Development Partners – an oil and gas business creating ways to match capital and resources with developing production, for which he helped raise a USD 350 mln private equity fund.
  • Master in Petroleum Engineering and a business accreditation from Harvard Business School.

Ruud Schrama

CFO and Executive Director

  • 25 years of experience in the E&P industry.
  • Most recently he held the position of Senior Vice President of Operations & Production at Addax Petroleum Corporation with accountability for business units in Cameroon, Gabon and Nigeria.
  • Career of 20 years with Shell since 1993. He started in The Netherlands as engineer and project manager, and moved subsequently to the UK, where he held responsibilities including business planning, HSE management, strategy management and corporate reorganizations.
  • From 2003, held positions as general manager and managing director in Cameroon, Nigeria and Egypt, where he was responsible for shallow offshore, deep offshore and land assets.
  • Held P/L responsibility for USD 10bln annual revenue, USD 3bln budget, 200,000 b/d production and 3,000 staff.
  • Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Systems Engineering, both cum laude from Delft University of Technology.

Dave Ellis

Non-Executive Director

  • 17 years of mining investment banking and investing experience.
  • Qualified as a Chartered Accountant
  • Managing Partner of Global Natural Resource Investments
  • Prior to this was a Managing Director of Barclays Natural Resource Investments
  • Served on the board of over 15 natural resource companies.

Richard Jennings

Non Executive Director

  • 12 years experience in the private equity industry, 10 within the natural resources sector
  • 2 years qualified corporate lawyer
  • Previous roles at Linklaters LLP and Barclays Natural Resource Investments (BNRI)
  • Part of the management buyout of BNRI in 2015, to form Global Natural Resource Investments (GNRI)
  • Various directorships held across GNRI portfolio, currently within both Oil and Gas and Mining Sectors
  • Managing Director for GNRI

Caspar Noothoven van Goor

Non Executive Director

  • 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Broad range of experience ranging from Private Practice and General Counsel to Supply Chain Management expertise
  • Multinational roles across various regions with geographically distributed teams, working for IOCs, small- and mid-size oil companies as well as major services companies.
  • Managed entire Supply Chain for Deep Water Offshore Development in West Africa in excess of USD 5 bln contract value.
  • LLB/LLM Masters degree Law Groningen University, The Netherlands
